I am in a very weird situation right now. I just graduated college and will be applying to med school next cycle. When I was a freshman, I was taking a mandatory class for all freshmen. In a complete lapse of judgement, I sent a friend an essay (I know now that I shouldn't have). He ended up taking some parts of the essay without telling me, and long story short, my TA saw the Turnitin report for mine and reported it to the professor. For some reason, I guess my friend's (now ex-friend) TA never saw his or it was a much smaller part of his paper so it was not as big of a percentage plagiarized as mine so he was never told anything about it. Besides the TA telling me she was going to report it to the professor, I never heard anything else about it. To my knowledge, I have had no correspondence from the professor himself or the Dean's Office. I was given a 35% (such a random number) on the essay, but again no explanation or communication from the professor or TA. I thought I might have gotten lucky and did not think much of it. Now it is three years later, and I was scrolling through SDN when I saw some posts about IAs and this got me worried. Could I have an IA or some record and not have been informed about it?
