I hope all is well and hope you are getting ready to apply to med school soon!
I had an appointment with my school's health professional advising center adviser today. And, I thought I knew much but I clearly did not know much.
My intention of that visit was to ask her about where I can take Ochem 2 and Elementary Biochemistry course.
After she looked at my GPA, which is at 2.8 atm, she asked if I really want to pursue medicine. Then she went on saying that DO schools will not consider me even after 1 year of retakes for General Bio, Elementary Biochemistry and Ochem 2 because they want me to take post bac course to prove I can do better. This was new to me but I understood what she meant. Plus, she said that all the retakes have to at 4 year university and that I should spend about 3 years of retaking and taking other classes then apply.
I want to apply next year after retaking classes for a year. What she said makes that sound like impossible or dumb. My MCAT is 30<. I'm thinking about applying to LECOM postbac because I spoke to Ronald the associate Dean of affair I think and was told to apply right now. I'm not sure if Postbac is a good choice. I rather take classes at CC. I am so confused. Help me Thank you!
