Updating schools about a few weeks out of country and no communication?

I will be out of the country, without access to email, internet, a dedicated address, or my phone. This will start around Christmas and last for a few weeks.

Should I update schools that I have interviewed at, or have not heard back from yet, via email or phone? My fear is that I will get an acceptance or an invite that will be time-sensitive and I will miss a deadline. I will update my address to my parent's house, but most things are sent via email...

Or should I just forgo all of that and leave my passwords with my parents, and hope that anything that would be time-sensitive is something that they could deal with (can they call schools on my behalf)?
