Retake in the middle of applying...

I was wondering what happens if I applied to med schools for this past cycle and feel like I won't get in with my current score, and so i decide to retake in April.

My dilemma is if I do happen to be considered or get in somewhere, will they see I am planning on/took a retake and wait for that score to get in to do anything more. Or could it hurt me more?

Or is it after the secondaries its a closed book regarding the MCAT.

It's a weird situation, I know, but any advice would be awesome.
