I can see this both ways, to be honest. On one hand I fear that the expansion of schools so rapidly, especially for-profit schools will dilute our degree. I don't want the DO degree to be a joke.

On the other hand, Montana is a much better place for a new school than, say, opening med school #397 in NYC.

One could see this as UW starting a turf war. They want to be the only shop around. They're already pissed about Washington State starting a med school.

Also, UW has never been especially DO-friendly. COCA will likely see WWAMI's attempts to fight this as a MD tyrants vs. DO underdogs kind of thing.
