How do medical schools look at your gpa/BCPM?

On initial screening they generally do not. On subsequent looks, especially after interviews, we do, but not to the extent and detail people think. It is more of an impression like "look, he did an engineering major at a good school and had consistent courseload, that explains the below average GPA" rather than "wow, he took the full sequence of math methods for mechanical engineering during freshman year along with orgo and orgo lab"
However, upward/downward trends are eminently obvious because we see the table with GPAs sorted by year
