I received an acceptance recently and of course am elated! However, I am really anxious that my offer may be rescinded. While I was interviewing this cycle I thought it would be a good idea to take a community college course for fun (I graduated university already). Unfortunately, this class was attendance based and although I thought I wouldn't miss too much class due to interviews that was not the case since travel plans became longer than I had intended. Long story short, I will be failing this class because I simply could not attend a lot of class due to interviews and associated travel.
Schools of course ask for updated transcripts from ALL institutions that I've taken classes at, so they will inevitably see this updated failing grade. I am really worried that even though it's not a required class or part of my main university that it will be seen as "slacking off" -> rescind.
What would be my best course of action right now? Should I call the school and explain the situation? What are your thoughts on the chances of the offer actually being rescinded? I am asking the professor for an extension/possible make-up assignments but of course this isn't guaranteed and is totally up to the professor. I did notify her that I would be missing class due to interviews but missed a lot of in-class work that really brought my grade down.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
