Looking for advice: part-time CC vs full-time 4 yr

Hi folks, just looking for some general advice regarding preparations for medical school

Background: I have a bachelors in electrical engineering with a 3.35 cGPA. I don't really have a science GPA given that I haven't taken most med school prereqs. I have not taken the MCAT. I currently work full-time and have about 25k in undergraduate loans. Regarding ECs, I've volunteered at a crisis hotline and currently volunteer at an inpatient psychiatric unit. I'm looking to shadow at some point in the near future.

Goal: I'm looking to get accepted into an MD program. DO is not out of the question, though.

Options:

a) I could continue to work full-time and take 1 to 2 courses a semester at my local community college. Obviously, I'd save a fair amount of money and still be able to work at my full-time job. On the downside, this would certainly be DIY and I would have less resources available than at a pre med post bacc program. Another downside is that it would take me a longer time to get my prereqs done.

b) Quit my job and use my savings + take out some loans and go to my local state school's premed postbacc program, to which I have been accepted. The school does not offer any evening/night courses, which is why I'd have to quit my 9 - 5. I'd have more resources and I'd be able to get the prereqs done faster, yet at the same time I wouldn't be making any money.

My main concern is this whole community college vs 4 year talk. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on what med schools want. I could obviously make the argument that I needed to take CC courses at night because I have to keep my full-time job, which isn't necessarily the case.

Given my relatively low GPA (especially given that I'm considering MD schools), I'm assuming it'd be best to just do the premed postbacc at my local 4 year. If I could do great in all my prereqs as well as the MCAT, I could show that "upswing" that med schools apparently like to see.
