Interview Attire -- Three Piece Suit?

I have an upcoming medical school interview and was wondering if wearing a three piece suit is appropriate. I understand that it's a bit more than the traditional/conservative approach, but it definitely makes you stand out -- not sure if in a good or bad way. Any opinions would be helpful!
